Ryan Kent filleted by ex Rangers hero after Fenerbahce return
After being granted his first appearance for Fenerbahce in three months, Tugay Kerimoglu destroyed fellow former Rangers player Ryan Kent.
The Istanbul club made a last-ditch attempt to unload Kent during the transfer window, but the former Liverpool star turned down every move offer. Kent’s relocation to Turkey has been a complete failure. Kent was allegedly blackmailed with having his wages withheld by Fenerbahce until he threatened to file a FIFA complaint. Kent’s contract is still in effect for more than three years. In his 16 games with the team, his lone goal came against FC Zimbru in the Europa Conference League in his debut.
He has been in cold storage since the beginning of November, when he last participated in a league game, but he was unexpectedly picked as a substitute in their game against Alanyaspor. With five minutes remaining, manager Ismail Kartal substituted him for captain Edin Dzeko, a seasoned striker, in an attempt to win the game. However, the score finished in a 2-2 tie.Tugay, who played for the Rangers for eighteen months and earned 94 caps for his nation, wasn’t pleased with the replacement either. “When you are trying to win a game, you don’t take off your main striker,” the TV pundit stated.
