Mohamed Diomande addresses Rangers’ transfer fee after ranking among the top 15 most expensive transfers.

Mohamed Diomande acknowledges that once Rangers decided to pay a high price for him, he is anxious to pay Philippe Clement back.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the team last month on loan from FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark; in the summer, the Gers will have to pay £4.5 million to make the move permanent. The Ivory Coast Under-23 cap is now among the top 15 most expensive signings at the Ibrox thanks to the high price tag, but Diomande has vowed to repay the Light Blues for their confidence in him.

Indeed, that is a significant investment, he remarked. However, I’ll just focus on how I can better myself and how I can support the team in achieving their goals here. This isn’t really a huge pressure, in my opinion. I was aware of this club’s size and ambitions. The support from the fans has been incredible. both on my debut and during the weekend. They embrace me with open arms. I’m hoping I can repay them.”

In Rangers‘ 2-0 victory against Ayr United on Saturday night, Diomande made his debut in full, setting up a Scottish Cup quarterfinal matchup with Hibs at Easter Road. Despite the fact that it was his first competitive start in three months, the January signing is eager to establish himself in the starting lineup.

“It is something very different for me,” he remarked. We would have 5,000 or 6,000 spectators in Nordsjaelland. Arriving here is a significant adjustment. But knowing that there are people behind me encouraging and supporting me will give me the rush to push myself.

“It was difficult for me, but playing for a short while helped.” I used the minutes that I had. Returning to competitive gaming is a positive thing. I’m glad I had enough time to exert myself, thanks to the manager.

“However, I can also play at the No. 6, No. 8, and No. 10 positions in the centre. I just make use of the chance to support the group. I’m simply going to try to give it my all for the team wherever the manager puts me.”
