Kenny Miller makes new Rangers and Celtic prediction in Scottish Premiership

Kenny Miller has become more confident that Rangers will be able to claim the Scottish Premiership title but admits it is “dangerous” to rule Celtic out of the race.

Philippe Clement’s side have the opportunity to topple The Hoops on Wednesday 14 February, facing Ross County at Ibrox in their game in hand. The Gers have experienced an incredible rise through the league table since the sacking of Michael Beale, closing the gap on Celtic to just three points.Writing for Daily Record on Sunday (11 February), the former Scotland striker said: “With Rangers, it feels like an upward curve. Everything is in their favour.“So I’d love to say here that I’m 90 per cent certain Rangers will win the league. But I can’t because it’s dangerous to write this Celtic team off.”

Considering both teams’ form, the likelihood is that the league title will be decided by the Old Firm derby. Despite several matches between now and that famous fixture, Clement should be able to overcome any hurdle in the meantime.Rangers have lost just a single match in all competitions since Clement took over the managerial reins in October, losing out narrowly in a 2-1 defeat to their rivals. But now that the Gers have caught up with their games in hand, the league could go either way.

As Miller says, there seems to be a switch of momentum over to Ibrox, with Celtic looking over their shoulders rather than having an easy coast to the Scottish Premiership trophy. And although most things have turned in Rangers’ favour in recent weeks, Celtic are very much a dangerous club that can kick into the highest gear when needed. Clement will know this and will be warning his players that the league is far from over at this point in the season.
