Everton winger quietly makes debut after January transfer window arrival
During the weekend, Kingsford Boakye made his debut for the Everton under-21 team in their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa.
Boakaye, who joined the club’s academy, was the only new player to join the Toffees during the January transfer window. The 19-year-old winger, who was previously with AC Milan, signed as a free agent. Before joining the San Siro, he advanced through the ranks at Zilina Africa in his home Ghana.With his work permit finally accepted, Boakaye signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Everton that would expire in the summer of 2026.
The teenage player, who can play on either flank, started for Paul Tait’s team against Villa at Bodymoor Heath on the left hand side. He played most of the match before being replaced in stoppage time. Halid Djankpata scored for Everton in the Premier League 2 loss. On Monday, February 19, the young Blues will host Nottingham Forest at Finch Farm. In the meantime, Everton under-18s lost to Middlesbrough by a narrow score.
