Club Boss Makes Admission About Star On Loan From Everton

Fleetwood Town manager Charlie Adam has said that when he went to witness Everton’s Elijah Campbell, he was really impressed with what he brings to the table.

The 19-year-old centre-back came through Everton’s academy system and joined Fleetwood on loan during the winter transfer window.
Campbell has already made three League One outings for Fleetwood, as he wants to continue his progress.

Adam explained that he learned about Campbell through his recruitment staff and went to watch Everton’s Under-21 side play Manchester City in the Premier League 2 Division 1 before deciding to sign him.

The Fleetwood manager admitted he enjoyed Campbell’s energy and mentioned that the Everton loanee shown his athleticism against Port Vale.

“I knew about him through recruitment, but again, I went to watch him on Monday night against Manchester City and I just liked everything I had seen about him and his energy”, Adam told Fleetwood’s media.

“He is young but athletic and he has shown that [against Vale].”

Campbell will hope to play as much for Fleetwood as possible this season in order to catch Sean Dych’s attention before he returns to Goodison Park in the summer.
