Andy Gray hits back as Richard Keys takes brutal swipe at Everton after…

Richard Keys says Everton only have themselves to blame for being in a Premier League relegation scrap.

The Toffees were deducted 10 points earlier this season and are in the bottom three after going seven games without a win.

Keys would not be shocked to see Everton lose this season considering they have failed to score in four of those games.

“That signifies a team being demoted,” he stated on beIN SPORTS [February 10, 12:32 p.m.]. If you are unable to score goals,

“I’ve always said, even with those four wins, that I’m worried – 10 points deducted is a huge blow,” former Everton player Andy Grey continued.

“Life without that deduction would be a whole lot brighter.”

“Well, if they didn’t overspend and get themselves into trouble,” Keys chimed in.

Grey retaliated by saying, “But Richard, if there are rules.”

Premier League making an example of Everton

It’s important to keep in mind that, barring the deduction, which they might still be able to reverse, Everton would have finished 12th in the Premier League.

The enormity of the punishment is now becoming apparent as one looks down from gazing up towards the top half to instead finding themselves in a fierce struggle for existence.

As Grey notes, certain teams escape unpunished while the Premier League seems to be targeting Everton and now Nottingham Forest.

Everton

Grey is obviously alluding to Manchester City, where there have been allegations of over 100 rule violations.

Everton would have gone through two trials of their own before to the 2025 conclusion of the case.

Keys makes a valid argument about the dearth of goals on the pitch. If the Toffees don’t score more freely than they do now, they will lose ground.

The opportunity to alter all of that is provided by Crystal Palace’s visit, but an even more significant outcome may occur prior to that given the impending deduction appeal ruling.
