Micah Parsons on impending Cowboys extension: CeeDee Lamb is ‘the priority right now’

Micah Parsons is due for a Texas-sized extension.

As it stands now, the Pro Bowl linebacker believes the Dallas Cowboys’ priorities are on the other side of the ball, which he is fine with.

“I know they have to get CeeDee Lamb done. “I think that’s the priority right now,” Parsons told NFL Network’s Maurice

Jones-Drew and Rhett Lewis during Super Bowl Live.

Parsons has been an instant success in the NFL, but he’s taking a cautious approach to his second contract.

Lamb is a 2020 first-round pick with one year remaining on his rookie contract after his fifth-year option was exercised, and

Parsons, 24, is a 2021 first-round pick, so the timeframe and order of priority make sense. The Cowboys will have a difficultMicah Parsons

process in signing both great players, who are expected to want high-paying contracts. Additionally, the team may need to

negotiate an extension or restructure with quarterback Dak Prescott.

Parsons, who won three Pro Bowls in his first three seasons and received two All-Pro accolades as a standout pass rusher, is not

rushing the front office. However, he is ready to do business as soon as it comes.

“If they’re ready to talk about a deal and get a deal done, I’ll be super excited,” he told reporters. “You know I’m ready to be

[with the] Cowboys for life, this is the team I wanted to be with, this is the team I want to win a championship with.”

Parsons’ comments are sure to make the Cowboys brass and Lamb very happy.

“What’s meant for me is meant for me,” that’s what he stated. “I’m not gonna rush the process, I’m gonna just enjoy the process and keep working until it’s time.”
