UCLA Football: Bill O’Brien Leaving Ohio State Opens the Door For Chip Kelly.
Bill O’Brien will become Boston’s new head coach, which could lead to Chip Kelly leaving UCLA for Ohio State.
It has been officially revealed that Bill O’Brien would leave Ohio State to become the new head coach of Boston College.
Rumors suggest that Chip Kelly may use this opportunity to leave the UCLA Bruins behind.
Kelly has been marketing himself around to other organizations and has emerged as a coordinator favorite for college teams like
as Ohio State. Kelly would be demoted to join the school’s staff, but his attacking prowess would still be appreciated.
What’s interesting about all of this is that Kelly was kept by UCLA only to start pursuing NFL and collegiate opportunities.
Kelly had interviewed with the Raiders and Seahawks, and he was also considered for the Commanders’ offensive coordinator role.
Kelly looks to want out of coaching UCLA, and he could end up coaching Ohio State next season.
Kelly has yet to find work with another team, but it hasn’t stopped him from calling around.
It’s possible that something is going on behind the scenes, and UCLA has lost interest in retaining Kelly.
In either case, Kelly’s tenure as UCLA’s head coach has the potential to be thrilling.
