Rangers have been cautioned by Barry Ferguson not to lose sight of their objective since, despite Celtic’s current struggles, the Bhoys are capable of winning championships.

When Philippe Clement took over at the Ibrox in October, Rangers was seven points behind their local rivals Celtic.
Ferguson, though, reminded Rangers that Rodgers’ Celtic know how to win trophies and warned them not to lose concentration just because Celtic aren’t playing at their best.

The former Rangers player told them to concentrate on their game and to show respect for Celtic’s skills.

Ferguson stated in his Daily Record column, “Listen, Celtic may be having a dip themselves at the moment and they certainly weren’t great at Easter Road.”

“However, they have the ability to win titles, so Rangers must play each week with unwavering focus.”

By taking advantage of Brendan Rodgers’ team’s decline in performance, the Gers have now managed to cut the deficit to three points, while Clement’s squad still has the game remaining.

They just cannot afford to consider, when they wake up on a Saturday morning, that they might lose ground today.

Rangers must simply be incredibly focused over the next three and a half months. “No, you have to go out thinking they are going to win every week because that is what keeps your own mind concentrated on picking up results.”

Rangers’ next Scottish Cup matchup comes against Ayr United this coming weekend. The next week, they play Ross County.
