Keep your mouth shut’ – Chris Sutton savages Everton loanee after February controversy

Neal Maupay, an Everton loanee, has come under fire from Chris Sutton over the drama surrounding Monday’s Brentford vs. Manchester City match.

Despite Maupay’s early goal, the Bees gave up three goals, and Pep Guardiola’s team went on to win 3-1.

“It just seems quite odd to me because there are levels, aren’t there? This is what I can’t quite work out about him,” Sutton said, referring to the controversy that was sparked by the striker picking a fight with Kyle Walker and allegedly making a comment about his children, as reported by the Daily Mail on February 8.

“You want to be competitive, you can be physical, whatever, but chucking out comments to Kyle Walker, I do not get that in any way, shape or form,

Maupay’s recent actions, such as making fun of teammates like he did James Maddison and getting into physical altercations on the field, are a disgrace to his professionalism and moral fiber.

The striker damages his own reputation and unnecessarily adds negativity to the game by going to such lengths.

Even though Walker’s actions weren’t perfect, Maupay’s antics are still unacceptable, and a professional football player has to act more appropriately in that regard.

Rather of concentrating on enhancing his skills and making a valuable contribution to his club, the 27-year-old’s intransigence merely acts as a diversion from his footballing prowess.

After experiencing disappointments throughout his time at Brighton and Everton, the Frenchman ought to put self-improvement and humility first.

He may reclaim credibility and respect in the football community by reflecting on his past errors and acting maturely both on and off the field.
