Ibrahim Osman, a striker for FC Nordsjölland and a graduate of the Right to Dream Academy, is poised to follow Rangers star Mohamed Diomande to the United Kingdom.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Brighton of the Premier League has agreed to pay €22.5 million (£19.2 million) to bring the 19-year-old Ghanaian to the AMEX.
It builds on the solid ties that West Ham and Ibrahim Osman had during the January transfer window; Osman is a young striker who is among the best-regarded in Europe.
If the transfer goes through, Osman will join Brighton in the summer and will be the second graduate of the Right to Dream Academy to leave FC Nordsjaelland in as many weeks.
Rangers secured a £4.3m loan-to-buy deal to bring Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande to the club after four years in Denmark.
Pair from Right to Dream Academy travel to the UK
A football-based social mobility initiative called the Right to Dream Academy provides scholarships to gifted children on the west coast of Africa.
Located in Ghana, the inspiring initiative has produced a number of young people in recent seasons, the most well-known of whom is perhaps Mohamed Kudus, who is currently with West Ham.
With strong ties to the Academy, FC Nordsjaelland is currently witnessing two of its initiatives make extremely intriguing moves to the UK.
Rangers are hoping that Mohamed Diomande can make an impression at Ibrox and eventually be sold for a high price, which will assist jump-start the club’s faltering player trading model.
Ibrahim Osman’s ability to have been selected straight out of Scandinavia is a credit to Brighton’s recruitment department, which is renowned for its skill at acquiring players ahead of schedule.
Rangers have a glimpse of the talent in Mohamed Diomande
In Rangers’ midweek triumph over Aberdeen, Mohamed Diomande made his Rangers debut, giving Ibrox supporters a brief taste of the Ivorian’s talent.
A spark of a good player was displayed when he casually flipped the ball over the heads of two Aberdeen defenders and played a pass over to the side.
Although Mohamed Diomande needs some time to get used to life at Rangers, it’s safe to assume that the midfield player is excited about his new team.
Ibrahim Osman will probably feel the same way when he makes his way to Brighton, but supporters will be hoping that by the time he arrives on the south coast, his old teammate will be settling in nicely at Ibrox.
