Willie Miller makes Rangers admission live on BBC after beloved Aberdeen crushed

Willie Miller makes Rangers admission after beloved Aberdeen well beaten at Ibrox.

Aberdeen veteran Willie Miller admitted that Rangers “were the better team” and deserved their Scottish Premiership triumph at Ibrox.

Rangers defeated Aberdeen 2-1 at Ibrox, thanks to goals from Rabbi Matondo and Todd Cantwell, who overcame Bojan Miovski’s strike.

Rangers achieved a well-deserved victory over Aberdeen in a difficult match, and Willie Miller acknowledges their achievement.

Willie Miller: Rangers deserved Aberdeen victory

During BBC Scotland’s match coverage, the legendary former Aberdeen defender praised the Ibrox side.

Willie Miller praised both Rangers and Neil Warnock’s team.

“They deserved it,” Miller stated. “They were the better team.”

“It felt more like a Rangers performance with the crowd behind them. A high tempo, rather than focused solely on possession.

“You can talk about possession and possession only matters when you’re doing something with it.

“I’ve been here in the past and Rangers have had plenty of possession and they haven’t done anything with it.

“On this occasion, particularly in the first half but even in the second half, everything was about going forward, it was all about causing the opposition problems.

“Aberdeen played well. They played well defensively, they had to defend in depth at times, they had to be fully concentrated and they were.

“Rangers deserved the victory, no doubt about that, but there’s a lot of pleasing aspects to the Aberdeen performance as well.”

Adding later: “This is what Ibrox used to be like. It hasn’t been like this for a wee while. The atmosphere hasn’t been as electric

as what it was tonight. I was quite surprised actually at how vociferous it was. I think they’re getting better, this team, I don’t think they’re right at the very top just yet.”

Rangers cut Scottish Premiership gap

Rangers have cut the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 0 points and one goal with Old Firm rivals Celtic after the win over Aberdeen.

Manager Philippe Clement has achieved significant success, including winning the League Cup, qualifying for the Europa League, and regaining a seven-point lead in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen have recently shown to be a bogey side for Rangers, with the club losing five points to their northeast rivals this season, but the outcome has turned that record upside down.

Willie Miller and Aberdeen will try to progress under Neil Warnock, but Rangers will focus on the Scottish Cup and Ayr United this weekend.

This evening’s Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Hibs is the main focus.
