There were reports..” – Price tag claim made as Gers face summer striker issue after recent transfer link Rangers News

Rangers face summer striker issue amid transfer link and £8m valuation.

Rangers spent a lot of money this summer attempting to replace Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, with the main surprise being that local talent like Bojan Miovski was completely overlooked.

For two seasons in a row, the reputed £535,000 signing from Hungary has hit 20 goals, give or take, on a side that is far from creative. It appears like Gers boss Philippe Clement missed the boat, if he was interested.

Rangers may overlook Bojan Miovski due to his high price tag in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Rangers miss boat with Bojan Miovski

In a rare moment of punditry rather than pantomime, the Sky Sports panel of former Dons keeper Joe Lewis, Kris Boyd, and Chris Sutton discussed the talents of the North Macedonia international after scoring at Ibrox and why neither of the two Glasgow heavyweights had made a move for the 24-year old.

Boyd responded to the question of why Bojan Miovski was not the obvious pick for Rangers in January.

“I think economically, I think, clearly, Rangers spent a lot of money in the summer at the top end of the pitch, and it didn’t work out.

“Now, perhaps Lammers has left, Dessers, and there were suggestions that someone might have been interested in January.

“There might have been an opportunity then if he had moved on, they might have went and got someone.”

When the former Gers hero asked Lewis how much he believed the Aberdeen talisman was worth, he replied:

“£8m plus add-ons.”

At the least.

If Rangers had a striker with 20 goals, we would need nearly twice that, and at 24, Bojan Miovski possesses all of the qualities to play at a higher level.

We did not need to sign Lammers with Michael Beale’s existing players, as evidenced by Todd Cantwell’s current form, and we overpaid for Dessers.

Miovski would not have cost us £8 million like Lammers and Dessers, but he will now, resulting in another squandered opportunity.
