Former Liverpool and Everton player Don Hutchison regrets passing up the opportunity to join Rangers during the Dick Advocaat era.
The BBC analyst said on Twitter that he and his father are avid Rangers fans and like the atmosphere at Ibrox.
Hutchison played in the Premier League for several clubs, including West Ham, Sunderland, Coventry City, and Luton Town.
Hutchison expressed on Twitter that it still bothers him that he did not sign with the Rangers at the time. Dick Advocaat has been in charge since around 2000.
When asked if he was a Gers supporter, he said, “My dad was, so yeh mate.”
Hutchison at Ibrox instead of Liverpool or Everton?
From 1998 to 2001, Advocaat managed the Gers, and the team enjoyed great success, winning two Scottish Premier League titles in 1999 and 2000, two Scottish Cups in 1999 and 2000, and the Scottish League Cup in 1999.
Hutchison, a versatile midfielder noted for his work ethic and technical abilities, might have added vital experience and quality to the Rangers club at this time.
