In the summer transfer window, if Everton is relegated, Ben Jacobs of Arsenal could be able to sign Amadou Onana in a “bargain deal.”
Despite widespread rumors, the journalist revealed in his Daily Briefing column on February 6 that Arsenal did not place a bid for Onana in January.
The Belgian international is reportedly admired by the Gunners, and they may approach him at the end of the current campaign.
According to reports, Everton is holding hard to their £50 million value, but if they are eliminated from the top flight, a deal with Arsenal “may be possible.”
There is still uncertainty at Goodison Park.
Considering all the lingering turmoil off the field at Goodison Park, Everton did well to maintain their current roster during the January transfer window.
At this point, the Toffees don’t desperately need money, and ideally they won’t in the event that this 777 takeover is successful.
Supporters, meanwhile, must accept that the club could still be relegated at this point, which would severely force their hand.
If Everton does lose, it is not illogical to assume that players like Onana, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Jordan Pickford will be the first to go.
In the unlikely event that this turns out to be the case, the Toffees will need to make sure they maintain their valuations.
In what should be a better future, the club will hopefully add to what they currently have and hope that none of that matters.
