Pep Guardiola refuses to discuss Kyle Walker and Neal Maupay bust-up in City win.

Following Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Brentford, there was an enraged altercation between Kyle Walker and Neal Maupay. Pep Guardiola declined to address the incident.

The England defender needed his manager to calm him down after he lost his cool after something Maupay said to him in the last moments.

Throughout the game, home fans had been making fun of City captain Walker’s personal life.

After the final whistle, Guardiola spoke with French striker Maupay for a considerable amount of time. However, when questioned about the event later, Guardiola merely replied, “Next question!”

With Arsenal’s victory against Liverpool on Sunday and the victory in west London, City now trail the Reds by two points with one game remaining. Guardiola was more upbeat when discussing hat-trick hero Phil Foden.

Only Brentford defeated City both at home and away in the previous campaign, and they appeared to be going for the “three-peat” after Maupay gave them the lead.

But Foden eventually defeated a determined Bees goalie, Mark Flekken, to level the score for City before halftime.

Following their early second-half advantage thanks to a cross from Kevin De Bruyne, the England midfielder completed a spectacular treble to give the visitors total control over their title destiny.

Guardiola remarked, “I said weeks ago that Phil is having his most influence on the team.”

“He has a great understanding of the game and knows how to play both simply and aggressively.

“He always has the pleasure to score goals and the threat when he is close to the 18-yard box. He is an exceptional player.

A short age, already more than 250 games for City. That means the influence since he arrived.
