In order to honor former Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis for everything he provided

throughout his career, DUP MP Gregory Campbell has introduced a motion in the House of

Commons.

Davis, who was born in Ballymena, declared last month that he was retiring from football at the age

of 39.

With 140 international appearances, the former midfielder for Rangers, Southampton, Aston Villa, and Fulham holds the record for most caps for Northern Ireland.

He won four Scottish League championships and participated in two Europa League finals with the Glasgow team in his two years with Rangers.

David “can be recognised in this place as not only one of Northern Ireland’s, but also one of the United Kingdom’s greatest sporting talents,” according to a resolution Mr. Campbell, an East Londonderry MP, submitted to Parliament on Tuesday.
