The Everton super star is being pursued by Man United

According to sources, Man United is in the lead to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite before the summer transfer window opens.

Erik ten Hag and his hiring team are rumored to have set the 21-year-old as a long-term goal.

Despite Everton’s continuous battle to avoid relegation, Branthwaite is enjoying his first season as a regular in the Premier League.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Man United is “leading the race” to recruit him as other Premier League teams get ready for the off-season.

Thus far in the 2023–24 campaign, the England Under-21 player has made 26 appearances in all co

mpetitions.

On Saturday, February 3, he scored the equalizer for the Toffees as they held Tottenham to a 2-2 draw.

Twenty of the last twenty-one league games this season have seen Branthwaite play the whole ninety minutes.

In October 2023, the defender signed a new contract at Goodison Park, but Man United and other elite Premier League teams are planning a move.

Branthwaite played 36 games while on loan at PSV Eindhoven last season, when he contributed to their Dutch Cup victory.

Everton rejected the Eredivisie giants’ attempts to permanently retain the center back, which devastated them.

Man United is currently sixth in the Premier League and will let Raphael Varane depart on a free transfer this summer.

At center defender, the Red Devils can also rely on Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof.
