Rangers in line for five-figure windfall as Daily Record issue update.
According to the Daily Record, Rangers could receive a windfall in the five figures for their match against Dundee on March 17.
The match was rescheduled from its original Saturday, March 16th date to Sunday, March 17th.
This is so that spectators can watch the action take place in the middle of the day since the game will be televised live.
Good news for Rangers
Rangers will profit from a share of the broadcast money due to the arrangement between Sky Sports and the SPFL, because the game will now be televised.
A significant investment of thirty million pounds by Sky Sports to show sixty live games a season shows how important coverage of Scottish football is.
With the SPFL’s revenue share structure, the change specifically benefits the Gers by potentially increasing their revenue stream by at least five figures.
The club will also get the chance to present its brand and talents to a larger audience during the broadcast match, which could result in the acquisition of new sponsors and supporters.
Additionally, the announcement was made one month prior to kickoff, so supporters’ travel schedules shouldn’t be affected and the date won’t be altered.
Hopefully, by then, the Gers are leading the battle for the SPFL title, as they are now catching up to Celtic.
