Jose Cifuentes wanted by four clubs in Rangers exit update

Samuel Venancio claims that Jose Cifuentes had four different leagues interested in signing him as

a Rangers exit strategy before he chose to sign with Cruzeiro in Brazil.

The 469,000-follower journalist on Twitter said on February 4 that clubs in Turkey and the English

Championship, in addition to MLS, were interested in signing the midfield player.

While previous manager Michael Beale apparently wanted Cifuentes to accompany him to

Sunderland [Alan Nixon, 4 February], Rangers had agreed to a loan-to-buy deal with Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig. It is unclear which US side was after the former LAFC player. While previous

Player was looking [at] a club in Turkey, one in the Championship and one in the MLS,” enancio

wrote in English.

Despite Rangers’ struggles, Cifuentes is still in demand.

Being so mft departure, Fernando will be hoping to salvage his career as quickly as possible.

Although the move to Brazil is anticipated to be a loan with a buyout option, it appears that other suitors will likely surface if the arrangement isn’t made permanent.

Rangers haven’t spent any time in taking another stab at improving the midfield with the arrival of

Mohamed Diomande at Ibrox. Given the £4.5 million allocated to him, he will undoubtedly be expected to start frequently soon.

If the club is able to recover their investment in Cifuentes, or perhaps turn a profit on the £1.2

million transfer price he paid to Los Angeles, it will enable them to spend more money in the summer.

His troubles at Ibrox led to just nine SPFL appearances, and Beale’s transfer business ultimately proved to be a huge letdown.

However, it appears that enough teams have attributed that to the situation rather than Cifuentes personally. With plenty of options for their next move, they will be hoping that their decision to travel to Belo Horizonte was the right one.

In other Rangers news, the manager disclosed that another member of the first team may now need surgery.
