How Jake DeBrusk of the Bruins affected an All-Star game that he wasn’t there for
Boston —According to Jake DeBrusk, he was supporting David Pastrnak. Nothing against Jeremy Swayman, but when asked who he supported during the NHL All-Star game between his teammates, he gave a straightforward explanation. Pasta always wins in that situation. The shooter is always the one. We know our moves, (Swayman). We saw a video of it on the way back. I like of the change he made to win Sway. DeBrusk chuckled and remarked, “It’s one of those things they probably had a really good laugh about.” “Sway will probably run into some problems as a result of it.”
In regular and in the shootout, Pastrnak beat Swayman twice to score two goals on his Bruins teammate. On the way back from St. Barts, DeBrusk didn’t think he would hear his own name mentioned in relation to the shootout goal. However, Pastrnak claimed he borrowed one because he knew Swayman was aware with his arsenal of shootout maneuvers.
He was aware of all my maneuvers during the shootout, so I performed a small JD move. I enjoyed it,” Pastrnak remarked. Swayman had the same opinion. He has a few go-to maneuvers. “I assumed he would go glove side,” Swayman remarked. “He treated me like a Jake DeBrusk.” It was a wise decision. I had a pleasant surprise. According to DeBrusk, it was less of an exact twin and more of a cousin to one of his techniques.
It was a tiny floating object. In fact, he deviated from the norm. Actually, I’ve never done it,” DeBrusk remarked. “I have a few inquiries on that. It’s funny that they both called out to me. (stops to flash a cunning smile) That’s probably why it worked.
