Philippe Clement lieutenant set to see specialist as Rangers wait on latest blow.
Leon Balogun will consult a physician on a facial injury he acquired during the weekend’s victory over Livingston, according to Philippe Clement.
The 35-year-old Nigerian international defender sustained a face fracture after the team’s 3-0 victory over the Lions, as the Belgian boss had already disclosed.
The Rangers manager made it plain that even though the media would be itching for an update on the player, he wouldn’t be
giving anyone any advice over Leon’s condition until the center-back had seen a specialist.

Philippe Clement was asked to provide an update on Leon Balogun’s injury status prior to the match against Aberdeen.
Despite being questioned several times over the player’s condition, the Belgian responded that he did not yet know the nature of the injury.
“I’m not sure yet, Leon,” Clement remarked. He will talk with the surgeon this afternoon about the procedure and what the specialist needs to determine whether or not he requires surgery. After that, we will have more information.
That means that he will not be eligible for selection tomorrow.
Clement responded, “No, he’s with a specialist today, so he will decide what is the surgery,” when pressed for specifics. I’m neither a specialist nor a doctor.
Under Philippe Clement, Leon Balogun has been a consistent performer and dependable lieutenant; the defender has made 11 starts at Ibrox since the former Monaco manager took over.
Rangers squad continues to be plagued
Leon Balogun wasn’t the only injury update ahead of the clash with Aberdeen, with some good news on fellow defender Ben Davies.
The 28-year-old Davies is getting closer to making a comeback after going missing from the team since the 3-2 Europa League triumph over Real Betis, while Kemar Roofe has also accelerated his recuperation.
