Sidney Crosby Tried To Get Bruins’ Jeremy Swayman First Goalie Goal

Even before Linus Ullmark scored his first goal as a goalie last season, Jeremy Swayman envisioned turning on the light.

The goal came close to being realized during the first round of the NHL All-Star Game, when Pittsburgh Penguins superstar

Sidney Crosby returned the puck to Swayman with the net empty across the ice.

“I went for it and landed a person right in front of me. I don’t want to have any teeth removed at the All-Star Game.

“”I was looking for it but couldn’t connect,” Swayman told reporters, according to the team. “I like that he is thinking my way.

That’s cool. It’s a good partnership.

The Bruins goalie may not have connected on the shot, but playing beside Crosby was a moment he would never forget.

“This is wonderful. It’s quite unique to be in this position,” Swayman added. “He and the other guys in the changing room.

As a child, you see a role model that exemplifies the qualities of a true leader. It’s quite great to share this moment and memories with him for so long.”

Swayman and Crosy were members of Team MacKinnon, who were eliminated in the shootout by Team McDavid. Swayman’s

partner David Pastrnak defeated a goaltender, advancing Team McDavid to the final game against Team Matthews.

The Bruins did win the game, with bench boss Jim Montgomery claiming victory as Team Matthews’ coach.

Montgomery and his teammates defeated Pastrnak and Team McDavid 7-4 in the All-Star Game Final at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
