It appears to be a better outcome for all parties concerned if Cifuentes can secure this move midseason, given he does not appear to be getting much playing time at Rangers.
With John Lundstram, Nico Raskin, Ryan Jack, and new acquisition Mohamed Diomande ahead of him, the Ecuadorian would need a big selection problem to receive a chance in the team.
