According to Cesar Luis Merlo, Jose Cifuentes’ departure from RCifuentes received a loan-to-buy offer from Rizespor, but he did

Unhappy Ibrox stay set to end for Cifuentes

It appears to be a better outcome for all parties concerned if Cifuentes can secure this move midseason, given he does not appear to be getting much playing time at Rangers.

Cruzeiro is "one step away" from finalizing the Rangers star's transfer.
Cruzeiro is “one step away” from finalizing the Rangers star’s transfer.

With John Lundstram, Nico Raskin, Ryan Jack, and new acquisition Mohamed Diomande ahead of him, the Ecuadorian would need a big selection problem to receive a chance in the team.

That has already happened this season, but Cifuentes was unable to capitalize since he was unfairly sent off against Dundee on December 9th, missing the Viaplay Cup Final.

The terrible sequence of events cannot have improved his position under Philippe Clement after the manager who pursued him for weeks in the summer, Michael Beale, was replaced, and sums up a miserable Rangers career.

If both sides can label the Cruzeiro trade as a mistake and immediately identify a realistic solution, it will avoid an unhappy player from lingering at Auchenhowie for months.

Cifuentes had a move to Turkey open to him after the club accepted a loan-to-buy offer from Rizespor but he wasn’t taken by it, so

as the move to Brazil dragged on it could have been a cause for concern but it sounds like the hold up has been cleared and a move is on the horizon.
