Rangers ace with “everything” has reached agreement to join new side.
According to a recent update from journalist Fabrizio Romano, a Rangers player who has “everything” has apparently made an arrangement with another club ahead of an Ibrox exit.
Rangers transfer news
Even though the January transfer window is closed for another year, the Gers are still keeping an eye on prospective inbound and outbound deals.
Dwight Gayle, a striker who left Championship team Stoke City on deadline day, is one player who has been linked to a move to Ibrox. It indicates that because he is not under contract at any club, he is free to join another one throughout transfer windows.
In the meantime, a different report suggests that, should Philippe Clement’s team advance to the Champions League, Rangers may recruit Abdallah Sima and Lawrence Shankland to long-term contracts at the conclusion of the current campaign.
On the other hand, a notable update from a reliable source suggests that one current Gers player may be leaving the team.
Jose Cifuentes set to leave Rangers
Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes has ended his stint at Ibrox temporarily after reaching an agreement with Cruzeiro about a loan move, according to Romano on X.
All around, this seems like a wise decision that will provide Cifuentes the regular football he so desperately needs after having to settle with playing a supporting role this season.
After joining in the summer, the 24-year-old has only started six Scottish Premiership games. He has also only appeared as a substitute three other times. Instead of having his development impeded, he may flourish as a player on loan. John Thorrington, the previous general manager of Los Angeles FC, once waxed poetic about him, saying: “He has so much potential.”
“I’ll talk about Cifu because, in my opinion, he’s among the league’s most gifted midfielders, if not the best. He seems to have all he needs to be successful, in my opinion. Thorrington continued, “I’m not shocked to hear and receive interest from elite clubs in Europe.” We assess these opportunities individually, as I have stated, and we will cross that bridge when the time is right.”
It is hoped that Cifuentes would have a fruitful time with Cruzeiro in Brazil in the upcoming months, and then return to the Rangers as a better player than he was, potentially contributing significantly to the squad the following season.
The 19-cap Ecuador international is only 24 years old, so there may still be a lot of growth left in him. If the deal goes through, it will be intriguing to watch how he progresses while out on loan.
