One possibility to take over as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator going forward is Mike Zimmer.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Zimmer is speaking with the Cowboys over the defensive coordinator position.
The 67-year-old Zimmer was hired by the Cowboys as their first NFL coach in 1994, and he served as their defensive coordinator from 2000 to 2006. In addition, he has served as the Bengals’ and Falcons’ defensive coordinator. From 2014 until 2021, he led the Vikings as head coach.
Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator for the last three years for the Cowboys, is going to the Commanders to take over as head coach.
