Leon Balogun offered Rangers injury solution as Philippe Clement sees way to fastrack ‘warrior’s’ return
Leon Balogun has a “bad” injury, according to Philippe Clement, but he sees a possibility to get back into the game sooner. The Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Livingston required the center back to step in after just 22 minutes. Following a confrontation with Shaun Donnellan that resulted in a severe face injury for Balogun, John Souttar was substituted for the Nigerian player. Although his manager believes the 35-year-old has fractured a bone, he is optimistic that the player will recover with the help of a protective mask, as he has in the past.
Clement remarked, “Not good and good in a way.” “It is not good; he most likely shattered something in his face. It is a serious injury. The good news is that he is a warrior with experience who has dealt with similar situations in the past. I hope that’s the case since he thinks he can return quickly with a mask. The medical staff must make that determination.”
