Crazy’ – Ally McCoist can’t believe what he saw in Everton clash v Tottenham

Ally McCoist absolutely stunned by ‘Crazy’ thing he saw in Everton v Tottenham

Richarlison’s second goal for Tottenham in Saturday’s match against Everton at Goodison Park left Ally McCoist astonished.

The Brazilian returned to Merseyside with two first-half goals, one a screamer from the edge of the box that put Spurs ahead 2-1 at half-time.

In a live commentary on TNT Sports (3 February, 13:11), McCoist praised playmaker James Maddison’s “crazy” one-yard pass for the “magnificent” goal.

“Oh it’s magnificent!” McCoist yelled as the ball hit the net, and Fletcher said, “That is fantastic!”

“That’s special from Richarlison,” Fletcher said, before McCoist delved into greater detail.

“Fletch, I’ll tell you what’s exceptional before we finish. Madison’s feet. Maddison’s feet are extraordinary. And he throws a one-yard pass, which Richarlison catches with great joy.

“This is an absolutely stunning goal.” It actually is. Magic stuff on the left side. That is fantastic in and of itself, but the finish is just as good, if not better.

“That’s beautiful goal. What a goal. The finish is magnificent.”

Everton struggle again

There aren’t many things the Toffees can do to keep Richarlison’s strike from finding the top corner, and sometimes you just have to admire world-class talent.

But that moment did not determine the outcome of the game. Sean Dyche’s team missed numerous chances, especially in the first half, and failed to capitalize on pressure.

There are only so many times that can happen, especially at Goodison Park, where points will be crucial in the second half of the season.

Having said that, Richarlison deserves a lot of credit for the goal, and McCoist’s reaction was bang on.

Everton lacks a player of that caliber in their team who can win a game on his own. If we hadn’t been compelled to sell him, who knows where we’d be now?
