Ange Postecoglou says ‘unbelievable’ Spurs talent will be involved v Everton

Ange Postecoglou says ‘unbelievable’ Spurs talent will be involved v Everton.

Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur manager, has announced that Pape Matar Sarr “will be involved” against Everton on Saturday.

Spurs manager, speaking to football.london on Friday, confirmed that the 21-year-old midfielder would play against the Toffees.

Postecoglou praised Sarr’s “long trip back” from the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Tottenham manager stated that the Senegal international would be assessed following Friday’s training session and that he was unsure about his involvement.

When questioned about the latest Spurs team news, Postecoglou responded: “Everyone went through the other night fine, so no problems.

“Obviously, it was a short turnaround, so the lads are still resting, so we haven’t done much training, but they all feel okay.

“Obviously, Pape Sarr is back. He had a lengthy flight back, so we will evaluate him after training. I believe he will be involved, but I’m not sure to what extent.

Sarr appeared three times for Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations, when they were ousted in the last 16.

The Tottenham player played 120 minutes in the second-round match against Ivory Coast, which went to penalties after extra time.

Sarr, who had one assist throughout the competition, converted his country’s second penalty in the shootout.

However, it was insufficient for Senegal, as Ivory Coast won 5-4 in the shootout, with Franck Kessie scoring the decisive penalty.

Tottenham injury issues easing

Sarr has been a significant loss for Tottenham. Along with Yves Bissouma, the ‘unbelievable’ talent has played a crucial role in Spurs’ midfield.

Although the Mali international is still competing in the Africa Cup of Nations, Sarr’s comeback is another nice boost for Postecoglou.

Tottenham’s injury situation is also diminishing. Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and James Maddison have all returned to the team recently.

Spurs are already looking lot better now that their injury problems are less serious. And when Bissouma and Son Heung-min return from international duty, it will be interesting to see how Tottenham perform.
