On Deadline Day, Brendan Rodgers’ eyes shift slightly as he spins the exit door in pursuit of a midfielder for Celtic.

Champions of the Premier League Celtic are looking to add a new midfield player to strengthen their lineup on deadline day. Record Sport is aware that the club has a lot on its plate right now, with David Turnbull moving to Cardiff for a £2 million deal and Reo Hatate sidelined by injury while representing Japan in the Asian Cup. The Premiership winners are also looking to add a new left-back, and Harrison Burrows of Peterborough is one possibility. Adam Idah, a striker for Norwich City, will be signing number two for a six-month loan.

Due to concerns over Hatate and Turnbull’s impending departure, Celtic has focused on fortifying their midfield. It happens on the hectic last day of the transfer window, when Turnbull is leaving with Mikey Johnston and Marco Tilio and James Forrest is said to be leaving. Rodgers has emphasized the need of quality, and Nicolas Kuhn was just signed by Rapid Vienna for £3 million.

Additionally, the Parkhead team is trying hard to recruit a new wide player and striker. With one more game completed, Celtic leads Rangers by five points, and supporters anticipate a busy championship day. The Scottish Premiership champions of this year will take home a substantial Champions League prize pool exceeding £35 million. Eight games in the new league format are guaranteed under the new arrangement, while finishing in the top 24 will result in two additional games—the equivalent of making it to the quarterfinals under the existing arrangement.
