John Hartson shares exciting Celtic transfer prediction ahead of deadline day
Since Brendan Rodgers declared that he was hoping to bring in quality players (I can’t wait for the day I can stop writing this), Celtic supporters have expected that this transfer window will be busy. However, the club has not yet responded, and many are beginning to think that Celtic won’t bring in any more players before tomorrow night’s deadline.
Not so says John Hartson. The former Celtic hero is convinced that the club are working towards adding new faces and Hartson believes that Rodgers is set to get the players he wants.
“I believe, and it is really only my thoughts, but I think over the next two days, I think they’ll bring in some quality,” Hartson said on The Go Radio Football Show. And it’ll be the caliber that Brendan Rodgers has been pining for the entire campaign. “I feel that way because football is a big game and a lot can happen in 48 hours.”
Quite what that quality will be is anyone’s guess. With Celtic apparently getting the green light to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City, the 22-year-old sounds more like a project signing than anything else.
A player with a track record of winning trophies, being successful, and having big-game experience is what the fans are searching for. With all due respect, that player is not an English second-tier player who hasn’t taken home a big award. But as Hartson points out, football is a violent sport. All the Celtics supporters can do is wish that everything had occurred a little bit quicker than it has.
