Celtic could land £4m-rated Idah alternative before the deadline

w striker before the transfer window closes on Thursday evening.

Brendan Rodgers won numerous big honors during his first career at Celtic, therefore his current performance is unusual.

Indeed, things began to seem bleak in December, when the Hoops dropped games to Hearts and Kilmarnock. Rodgers has won every game since Christmas, but fans believe he needs to do more to maintain their support.

A transfer window in which Nicolas Kuhn is the only addition will hardly appease those at Parkhead, therefore.

Neither it seems will a late move for Norwich striker Adam Idah. A regular bench player is your first choice of forward, Brendan? Yeah, it’s not ideal.

Celtic’s late transfer business

In terms of incoming news at Paradise, the last 24 hours have been somewhat unusual.Unfortunately, the move for Sydney van Hooijdonk will not happen.

Instead, the forward will head to Norwich, and it appears that the Canaries will allow Idah to travel to Scotland.

Late on Tuesday evening, reports surfaced indicating that the Bhoys were close to signing the Republic of Ireland international, before Sky Sports writer Anthony Joseph supplied the following update on Wednesday morning.

However, with just seven goals in 34 outings this term, it’s not set many pulses racing in Glasgow.

Mark Guidi of Go Radio suggested Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski as a possible option.

He remarked this week: “Around the £4 million mark again, he’s got a great good goal over the weekend, but unfortunately for him, it was chopped off because to the quality of the finish. And I believe he has a good all-around game. A Macedonian internationalist, his value is only going to rise.

“Miovski is one that can grow for you and if he is on Celtic’s radar and Celtic signed him before Thursday, then that would be a good bit of business.”

How Miovski compares to Adam Idah

18 goals in 33 matches plays seven in 34. Argument done, finished, over. Okay, we’ll give you a bit more than that but already we can see why Miovski would be the more appealing signing for those at Celtic.

The Macedonian striker has been a standout this season, earning the nickname “clutch striker” from journalist Filip Mishov. He scored his first goal against Rodgers’ team in the second week of the 2023/24 season.

Since then, the 24-year-old has been an unstoppable force in the Premier League. Miovski has scored 11 goals in the SPFL this season, trailing only Lawrence Shankland (14) of Hearts. He has also scored seven goals in cup games.

Boasting composure and also a degree of power, Miovski would be an ideal late addition and at a potential £4m they’d be getting a striker already proven to cause chaos at this level. But, where are the other plus points? Well, this comparison against Idah tells you all you need to know.

So, while Idah may be better at dribbling the ball, Aberdeen’s Macedonian superstar provides much more than simply goals.

Miovski is also a creative danger, particularly in the Europa Conference League, where he generates an astounding number of shots per 90 minutes and makes considerably more vital passes than the Irishman.

The Dons are unlikely to want to move their prized asset at such a late stage in the transfer season, but Miovski is unquestionably a better choice than Idah right now.
