Rangers told to get rid of Kieran Dowell, he’s not earning his money at Ibrox
The playmaker joined on a free transfer from Norwich City in the summer of last year as a part of the highly criticized hiring spree of former manager Michael Beale.
Nevertheless, Dowell, 26, has only made seven appearances in the Scottish Premiership. He got hurt recently while traveling to La Manga for Rangers’ midseason training. Before the setback, he had just begun to make some progress in the team under Philippe Clement, but Ferguson believes it would be best for everyone if they broke up at the end of the season.
“Again for the boy, you’ve got to at times feel for them but he gets himself back, you can see there’s a player in there, can see there’s talent there. “But you need more than talent, you need a body that can handle the rigours of full-time football. You go over to La Manga and a lot is made of the surface that it wasn’t the greatest, I mean there was a few wee divots here and there but come on.
“But no, it’s merely the tale of his injuries during his tenure with the Rangers. He’s another; granted, he has a contract, but they ought to be trying to work out a compromise because the boy isn’t happy with it. Besides, it’s a two-way street, since he was given a decent contract with good pay. However, that’s just my viewpoint; if you’re not participating or playing on the field, I believe you should examine yourself.
“Are you supposed to be taking the money while sitting there? No, I believe that you have to work for your money. Perhaps this is an outdated viewpoint, but he is another player who will most likely leave the Rangers in the summer. A club owner from England has instructed an Ibrox star to make a “urgent” transfer, according to other Rangers news.
