If Everton needs to make a sale like to Anthony Gordon before the transfer deadline, the source shares.
At the end of the transfer window, Everton won’t be pressured into another Anthony Gordon-style sell, a source told iNews on January 29.
For the newspaper’s web edition, reporter Mark Douglas said that highly sought-after actors Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana have been given exorbitant price tags.
However, it is reported that the Toffees do not have a pressing need to sell like they did 12 months ago when Newcastle pounced on their troublesome situation to sign winger Anthony Gordon in a deal that reportedly could reach £45million (Sky Sports).
Everton’s own struggles with profit and sustainability rules is coincidentally given as a reason why they might have their top stars poached before the 1 February deadline.
Positive news
Everton fans are probably tired of hearing about financial justice, sustainability and profit, the 777 Partners purchase, and financial concerns. All these amazing admirers need is some stability.
To be honest, stability still seems a long way off, and before any of those talking points become reality, there will probably be more obstacles to overcome.
However, it appears that there is some good news for the time being at least, as Everton does not appear to be in a situation where Branthwaite or Onana will need to be let go in order to relieve financial pressure.
Everton supporters should breathe a bit easier because it’s expected that only offers above £100 million would be taken into consideration during the window’s final days. PSR issues have affected much of the top division, so it’s highly unlikely that anyone will come up with that amount.
In other Everton news, the team’s pursuit of Jake O’Brien has taken a “desperate” turn.
