Report: Broncos recruit Cody Rager, a college scout for the Saints, to assist them.
The New Orleans staff is getting smaller as George Paton tries to add players who have experience with Sean Payton.
It appears that head coach Sean Payton has let go of yet another important player from his time with the New Orleans Saints, according to Adam Schefter.
For nine years, Cody Rager has been a member of the Saints. Prior to being promoted to assistant college scouting director, he worked as a Southeastern region scout. Since Ireland’s time in Miami, he has proven to be a tremendous asset for New Orleans general manager Jeff Ireland, and it looks that Denver Broncos general manager George Paton will feel the same way.
I believe that everyone is curious to see how this will affect the draft in 2024. I do know for a fact that Sean Payton is very close to his New Orleans team, and that feeling must be reciprocated because many of them have followed him to Denver.
Rager finished graduate school at the University of Alabama, obtaining his Master of Human Environmental Science, as well as Master of Sports Management. This background with Alabama set him up for success in his first major role as Player Personnel Assistant for the Crimson Tide from 2010-2012.
Rager went on to become a Miami Dolphins scout in 2012. A few years later, he started working at Indiana University as the Director of Player Personnel. He stayed there for a while before going on to the University of Tennessee as the Director of Recruiting.
With the exception of his tenure as a vice president in the Broncos’ personnel, Rager’s career with the Saints began in 2015 and has continued ever since. All of that is yet to come.
