Serie A club now want to ‘convince’ Celtic to allow 23-year-old to leave this month in loan to buy move

Serie A club now want to ‘convince’ Celtic to allow 23-year-old to leave this month in loan to buy move.

With the majority of the transfer focus on Celtic’s desire to add new faces to the squad, it’s easy to overlook the fact that there are a number of players who are surplus to requirements.

Brendan Rodgers has already shipped out Hyeokyu Kwon, and it appears that another player may be leaving soon.

Gustaf Lagerbielke, a Swedish defender, has struggled since his summer move to Glasgow.

Despite being recruited for £3 million, the Allsevenskan Defender of the Year has unable to establish himself at Celtic Park. Lagerbielke, who was sent

off in his Champions League debut, is poised to leave Parkhead shortly.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Lecce hopes to convince Celtic to sell Lagerbielke before the transfer market ends on Thursday.

According to the source, “Loan with the right to buy: this is the formula established by Lecce to convince Celtic to release Gustaf Lagerbielke, a Swede,

twenty-three years old, center defender with six Premiership appearances.

“An idea, a solution to complete D’Aversa’s team in this second half of the season.”

Lecce is presently ranked 14th in the Italian premier division. After losing 2-1 to Genoa yesterday, they are now only three points above the relegation zone as the season nears its finale.

Lagerbielke has been identified as a key defender for the club, and with Rodgers no longer interested in him, a move to Italy may be imminent.

TBR Celtic will monitor the situation and hope to return their £3 million investment in the 23-year-old player over time.
