Rangers announcement now ‘imminent’ as Clement closes in on £4.5m deal

Rangers announcement now ‘imminent’ as Clement closes in on £4.5m deal.

Mohamed Diomande, a midfielder for FC Nordsjaelland, is expected to sign with Rangers soon. Philippe Clement is nearing completion of his second acquisition of the January transfer window.

Former Ibrox captain Barry Ferguson is clearly pleased with what he sees.

Many in blue also share his excitement, as Mohamed Diomande is expected to become Rangers’ first permanent addition of 2024 after being passed over by manager Philippe Clement and head of recruitment Nils Koppern. The midfielder is highly regarded.

Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke reported on Thursday afternoon that Rangers are now on the verge of completing Diomande’s signing. The Ivory Coast Under 21 international will be announced ’imminently’ once the paperwork is completed and his contract is signed.

Rangers close in on Mohamed Diomande

Diomande, who only turned 22 in October, is a graduate of the feted, Ghana-based Right to Dream academy. He followed in the footsteps of

Mohamed Kudus when flying the nest and heading to Denmark with Nordsjaelland four years ago, and will now join the West Ham star on UK soil.

“When I knew it was probably going to be happening yesterday, as you do, you go on to YouTube and have a look,” Ferguson tells the Daily Record.

“Listen, everybody can look good on YouTube. But from the highlights, he looks as if he has got something about him.

It will be interesting to observe whether the deal is completed in the coming days since (Diomande) is undoubtedly a player the management knows and likes.

Diomande, a tough-tackling, persistent, and technically skilled player, has elevated his game recently and has contributed five assists in 21 games

for Nordsjaelland this season. In addition, he has more cards than the Clinton branch in your neighborhood. His nine bookings depict a picture of a

player who has the bite and ferocity necessary to succeed in Scottish football.

Following in footsteps of West Ham United ace

Johan Thorup, the coach of Nordsjaelland, is quick to brush off criticism over Diomande’s goal deficit, stating that he compensates for it in other aspects of his game.

“Why don’t we look at the statistics about how many defensive tackles he makes instead of talking about his scoring stats?” Thorup asked. After then, it would be transformed into a happy tale.

“Hey, Mohammed is among Denmark’s top midfield players. I hope that most people can see how wonderful he has been for us this season.

Rangers most definitely can. Diomande, who loves to line up on in a more left-leaning role, may potentially clear the way for Ryan Jack or John Lundstram to exit. The summer contract for the seasoned pair is up.
