Jhon Duran blow as Aston Villa injury list grows.

Jhon Duran, a striker, is the most recent addition to Villa’s injured list. Unai Emery is expected to be missing four players for Friday’s FA Cup match against Chelsea.

Due to a hamstring injury he suffered in the last seconds of this month’s 0-0 draw at Everton, Duran is likely to miss several weeks of action.

Jacob Ramsey, who was sidelined due to a hamstring injury during the game, is still out but might play against Newcastle in the Premier League on Tuesday.

The two players absent are Pau Torres, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, and Lucas Digne, who is also sidelined due to a hamstring issue.

“Pau Torres and Lucas Digne are still hurt. Lucas will soon begin working with the group; perhaps within the next week. Pau was prepared to play, but he has halted once more, so we are handling him carefully.

“Ramsey has a hamstring injury as well. At first, we estimated three weeks, but if he heals well, he might return next week. Perhaps Tuesday, but perhaps not for tomorrow.”

Duran’s future has been the subject of speculation this month, with Chelsea the latest club thought to be considering an approach for the Colombia international.

Villa were expected to rebuff any advances, with his injury making the matter academic in any case.

“The last action against Everton he was injured,” said Emery. “For the next weeks he is not going to be available.
