Dean Jones has been told not to rule out a late move by Rangers to sign Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland, with just days left of the January transfer window
According to the former journalist for Eurosport, there is still a potential that something will
materialise before February 1st, even though the move isn’t assured to happen.
Regarding Rangers, Shankland has been the buzz of the January transfer window because to the
want for a consistent goal scorer at Ibrox, which has led to frequent connections to Hearts’ star
player.
Jones stated, “Hearts fans are ticking off the days and growing in optimism that this deal will not
happen,” in an interview with Give Me Sport on January 25. I’m informed that a Rangers trade for
Shankland is not completely ruled out.
It’s not dead yet, but it won’t happen for sure. Thus, in case Rangers supporters are hoping for
some hope that this agreement will survive, it still does, but not by much.
Surely Rangers have to push for this one
The connections to Shankland at Ibrox are unavoidable, and the club cannot dismiss the rumours
because they make too much sense. They are in need of a striker, ideally with Scottish Premiership
experience, and who better than the top scorer in the league?
With 13 goals in 22 league games played so far this season and 24 from 27 games in the previous
season, Shankland is Rangers’ greatest bet to score goals.
Danilo, a capable goal scorer, has sustained injuries, and his troubles could make all the difference
in Rangers’ attempt to win the championship this year.
In addition, Shankland has been a Gers fan since he was a young lad, which always elevates the
player’s and the supporters’ acclaim at Ibrox.
It’s expected to be a hectic week, with plenty of conjecture continuing to haunt Hearts and
Shankland while those at Ibrox will be rubbing their hands together. Rangers’ interest in the player
is long-standing, and a striker is the top priority in the summer window.
