The Senegal international is expected to remain at Ibrox while he recovers from a surgery on his thigh injury
Rangers manager Philippe Clement has stated that Abdallah Sima will miss “between two and three
months” of action.
The 22-year-old Senegalese international was sent
home from his national team’s training camp at the
African Cup of Nations due to a thigh issue. He has
been a standout performer for the Ibrox side after
joining on a season-long loan from Brighton.
Sima may experience a “long period of unavailability,” according to a statement issued on Monday.
This evening, Clement verified that the attacker had a successful operation to treat his injury.
Prior to the game, Clement gave Rangers TV an estimate of when he will likely return. “Abdallah
had his surgery, and the surgeon was really happy with how it went,” the Belgian stated. Everything
went smoothly, and the operation was good.
“He’ll be absent for two to three months. We anticipate that he will return as soon as possible,
naturally, since he is a good and hardworking individual. At the conclusion of the season, we can
rely on him.”
Editor of the Rangers Review Joshua Barrie has shot down rumours that Sima would go back to
parent club Brighton to resume his recuperation under the guidance of the Seagulls medical staff.
“He’ll be at Rangers because he’s worked with Rangers’ medical staff this entire season,” Barrie
stated. They will get access to all of his season-long data as well as his workout regimen. Sima
hasn’t done much training with Brighton; he spent both the previous season and the previous one
on loan. Given that he has spent the majority of the season with the team, it makes sense for the
Rangers to bring him back so he can receive the finest care possible.”
