“If Everton were really desperate…” – Don Goodman drops West Brom transfer prediction

“If Everton were really desperate…” Don Goodman abandons his West Brom transfer forecast.

  • Tom Fellows, a 20-year-old midfielder for West Brom, is a target for Everton and Leicester City.If West Brom is unable to get Fellows a new contract, they might think about lending him back to them.Although he hasn’t yet established himself as a main player for West Brom, who are fighting for a spot in the playoffs, Fellows has promise.

Don Goodman has given his assessment on Tom Fellows, a young player in high demand at West Bromwich Albion, and he has stated that if the Baggies are “really desperate” to complete a deal this month, Everton could offer to loan him back to them.

Fellows, who came through The Hawthorns youth system, has had a breakout season.

Carlos Corberan has rewarded him with 15 Championship games; on January 13, the Baggies defeated Blackburn Rovers 4-1, and the winger scored.

Goodman: Albion could receive Fellows’ loan back from Everton.

Since then, former West Brom striker Goodman has discussed his opinions on Fellows’ possible departure from Albion.

Speaking to West Brom News, the Sky Sports analyst said that with the dearth of players in B71 who have vision, he could not see Albion letting the 20-year-old go.

They do not have a lot of assets that can be sold, as painful as it is to say. “It’s not as though they can go out and get £15 million pounds for a Matheus Pereira,” Goodman remarked.

“No one is in that bracket for them. To be honest, I don’t think Tom Fellows joining Everton would be beneficial for either of them or West Bromwich Albion.

“If Everton were desperate, you’d like to think they’d sign him and loan him back to West Bromwich Albion for what remains of this season.

“Considering that West Bromwich Albion lacks attacking players, I find it hard to believe that they will just let Tom Fellows go. I had never seen or heard of him before, but I instantly thought, “I like him,” when I first saw him early this season.”

“I think West Brom have a really good player on their hands because he’s sharp, lively, and aggressive in that he likes to take defenders on and hurt them,” he continued.

“It has been very timely given their injury crisis, Grady Diangana’s AFCON trip, and Jeremy Sarmiento’s departure.”

Fellows isn’t one of The Hawthorns’ main players just yet.

Fellows hasn’t established himself as a significant contributor after just two starts.

While there is no denying his enormous potential, Corberan has only recently begun incorporating him into his first-team plans.

It will be interesting to watch how the Spaniard handles the winger from now until the conclusion of the 2023–2024 campaign. West Brom are two points ahead of seventh-place Hull City in the rankings, in fifth place.
