Frank Lampard admits he was stunned by how good one ‘amazing’ Everton player was

Frank Lampard, the former Everton manager, has now revealed the identity of a player who truly caught him off guard when he first came at Goodison Park.

Without a doubt, Lampard didn’t always have the greatest of times while he was a member of the team.

Sean Dyche has brought the team far closer to its goal and has made Lampard’s problems a thing of the past in this new age.

Nevertheless, not every day during Lampard’s appointment was bad; some were even excellent.

Furthermore, Lampard has recently recalled how impressed he was with Sean Coleman upon his arrival on Merseyside, during an interview on the “Stick to Football” podcast.

Prior to his arrival, Lampard acknowledged that he could have misjudged the Everton captain a little bit, but that rapidly changed.

In addition, the former England international mentioned in his podcast interview that Coleman once took some of Jamie Carragher’s comments to heart for this team.

When Everton player Seamous Coleman came, he astonished Frank Lampard.

Lampard complimented Coleman, saying, “Seamus was amazing.” I messaged him the other day because he made 15 years [at Everton] and what a player he is, starting from the first day I sat with him.

“I remember playing against him and I didn’t appreciate it until I worked with him, and he was 33 but it wasn’t just what he did on the pitch it was what he did off it as well.

“His standards, his humility, everything about him. Family man, there was not a bit of him that wasn’t genuine.

“He wore it on his face when we were struggling, it was like I really care.

“He’d speak in front of the other players, I remember he spoke about you once on Monday Night Football and you’d had a dig at the players and he used you as a reference point and he went I was watching Monday Night Football last night and did you watch it?

“And Jamie Carragher said this! It wasn’t necessarily a dig, but he was using it in a smart way, as if to say would you accept that and it was a bit of a turning point.”

An honor for the team

Naturally, praise for Coleman’s character has been given before.

After sustaining a serious injury, the Everton captain quickly returned to the starting lineup under Dyche, which suggests something.

It therefore comes as no surprise that in his first ninety minutes back, Everton defeated Aston Villa with an outstanding clean sheet.

As two complete professionals, Lampard and Coleman, the captain of Everton, actually had a lot of similarities as players.

Coleman may not be leaving before January is out, but it appears like another one of Sean Dyche’s defenders could.
