According to Fabrizio Romano, Rangers are working on a few names behind the scenes in an effort to sign more players in January.
The Italian journalist stated in an interview with GiveMeSport on Tuesday, January 23, that while he thinks the Germans will “look at some opportunities,” the moment has come for them to start “concrete stages of negotiations.”
As Philippe Clement attempts to bolster his team at Ibrox in the last days of the transfer market, he anticipates that the Light Blues will “make something happen.”
“I think Rangers will look at some opportunities,” said Romano. “They are working on some names, so, obviously, now it’s time to enter into concrete stages of negotiations.
“I expect them to try to make something happen in the window’s final days.”
Got to get moving
It was well known going into the January transfer window that Rangers would be trying to bolster their roster following a subpar summer hiring class.
Michael Beale lost his job as a result of their recent dealings, as several of the players he signed did not perform to the level expected of them.
The team still lacks quality depth, even though Philippe Clement has been able to produce a great run of victories and get a tune out of some of those recruits.
Only Fabio Silva has been added by the Gers this month, and more reinforcements are definitely needed given that Abdallah Sima and Kieran Dowell are now anticipated to be sidelined for an extended amount of time.
Although Clement will undoubtedly be eager to assemble his team before the window closes, the Light Blues still have a little over a week to make some fresh additions.
