‘New Philosophy’ of the Dallas Cowboys in NFL Free Agency? Fish Podcast as a Signing Idea for Derrick Henry

FRISCO – At a season-ending team meeting held here at The Star, 81-year-old Jerry Jones shared some personal mortality facts with his Dallas Cowboys teammates.

The Cowboys owner is being accused of passivity by veteran NFL writer Peter King, who also questions the whereabouts of “the old Jerry.”

Bryan Broaddus, the former Cowboys scout turned media guy, is hinting at a “different approach” on roster-building for the 2024 team.

Is there going to be a significant shift in the way Jerry’s Cowboys operate?

Please excuse my skepticism, but I think Jerry, Stephen, Will McClay, the personnel director, and coach Mike McCarthy are all certain that they have established a strong foundation.

When McCarthy made his “Buy Into Us!” speech, some people laughed and said, “Dallas is a championship program, we just haven’t won a world championship (yet),” but the other three powerbrokers, I believe, nodded in accord.

However, according to others in the building, “we might see a different approach when the league year starts,” adds Broaddus.

Does that imply making purchases in order to score big in free agency? Does that imply “last-gasp” efforts to sign well-known players? Does this imply that Jerry’s critics who have called him “passive” are going to be appeased?

Examining the Derrick Henry Idea in detail will help us to illustrate what a “New Philosophy” in NFL Free Agency might entail. Take a look at it in this Fish Report and Fish Podcast!
