VIDEO: Detroit Lions fans break another decibel record at Ford Field on Sunday
The Detroit Lions reported on Sunday that the noise level during their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached 134.3 decibels. Detroit won 31-23 and advanced to the NFC Championship. In the NFC Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams, fans reached 133.6 decibels.
Purdue University states that 130 decibels is equivalent to the sound of a “military jet aircraft take-off from aircraft carrier with afterburner at 50 feet.” This is the second straight week that Lions fans have broken the record during a playoff game at Ford Field.
