The Ibrox boss has been speaking ahead of his side’s clash away at Hibs on Wednesday night.

Philippe Clement has revealed that Abdallah Sima would be sidelined indefinitely after suffering an

injury while playing for Senegal.

The winger was expected to miss this month’s games after suffering a thigh injury while playing for

Senegal at the African Cup of Nations. However, he acknowledged that Sima will be out for a longer

period of time than expected when questioned, even if he won’t know the whole picture until Tuesday or

Wednesday night when play concludes.

When asked how long-term it was, he replied, “Long-term.” My medical staff should be able to provide

me with additional information about Sima later today or tomorrow; I should be able to find out after

tomorrow’s game. The group and team have demonstrated that they always bounce back from setbacks.

Throughout the season, there have been a few pleasant surprises in that regard.”

As Mohamed Diomande approaches Ibrox, Clement adds that he is not interested in the rumors

circulating around the Rangers. On Wednesday night, the Belgian team will play Hibs in one of their two

Premiership matches. In addition to his most recent midfield acquisition, Clement has already brought

in striker Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves. Diomande is set to arrive to finalize a £4.5 million deal from

FC Nordsjaelland.

Despite frenzied chat around the Ivorian, the boss is refusing to get drawn into the rumour mill, but he

admits he does want to be involved in the transfer process alongside director of football Nils Koppen.

When asked about Diomande, he said: “I don’t speak about any rumours. If you speak on one rumour

you need to speak on 50 and then I am only busy with that. I never do that.”

Meanwhile, Clement has also provided an update on Alex Lowry. The midfielder has returned to Ibrox

after his loan at Hearts was terminated and the plan is now for him to be sent back on loan.
