Rangers transfer news as ‘intense pressure’ update emerges in Galatasaray January pursuit of Ridvan Yilmaz

Nevzat Dindar claims thatGalatasaray is not putting “intense pressure” on Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz to cross the threshold during the January transfer window.

The journalist, who has over 280,000 followers on X reported, on Monday (22 January) that the European giants are not pushing hard to sign the 22-year-old this month, despite consistent suggestions that he remains a defensive target during the January window.

Before the Christmas break, Yilmaz was a reliable player for Philippe Clement’s team, but he has been linked to a number of moves away from Ibrox. Galatasaray may have only made one approach for the Turkish defender, according to Ozgur Sancar.

Dindar stated, “Galatasaray does not apply intense pressure and pressure for Rıdvan Yılmaz,” in reference to the possible move. If you ask me, Levent is my favorite.

No intense pressure

Rangers don’t seem very motivated to sell Yilmaz this month, and Galatasaray don’t seem particularly eager to push for the left-back’s signing, so it appears like this deal may already be fizzling out.

Given that Borna Barisic’s contract is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign and the Turkish international is now Rangers’ lone option on the left side of defense, the Light Blues will be reluctant to lose two players so close to one another.

However, with just over a week remaining in the transfer window, there is plenty of time for all of this to change and as deadline day nears, Galatasaray could well start to apply that pressure on Rangers and foot the bill to sign Yilmaz. This is a deal to definitely watch until the final minutes of the window as it seems as though one side is going to have to break their resolve for a deal to be reached before the end of the month.
