‘Incredible’ player makes late-night plans to rubber stamp Rangers transfer – report -Ibrox News

Mohamed Diomande makes late-night plans to finalise new Rangers transfer.

The Scottish Sun reports that Mohamed Diomande, the star player for FC Nordsjaelland, was preparing late on Saturday, January 20, to depart the United States and complete his transfer to Rangers.

On Sunday, January 21, the publication updated its online version of the timeline of events behind the scenes, revealing that Diomande had been granted permission to depart from his team’s training camp located in the United States.

Danish publication B.T. was the first to disclose on Sunday, January 21, that Rangers and Nordsjaelland had reached an agreement on a cost for the Ivorian midfielder, who coach John Walker, who holds a UEFA license, called “incredible.”

The Scottish Sun’s report read: “It’s understood the 22 year-old was last night making plans to leave his club’s winter training camp in the USA to rubber-stamp his move.

“Barring any issues with his medical it’s anticipated the attacking midfielder could be a Gers player within days.”

Shrewd business

This signing has come pretty much out of the blue, but the general consensus is that it is a very shrewd piece of business from the Gers’ perspective.

While we cannot pretend to be experts on all things Danish football, those who have watched Diomande up close say he is an adaptable central midfielder who can do a bit of everything.

He has the ability to break up play and also contribute to goals, whether that is by finding the net himself or laying on assists for his team-mates

If this deal goes through, which seems more and more likely, Philippe Clement will have added Fabio Silva, a new attacker, and a new central midfielder to his side.

Although a left-back will eventually be required, an all-out striker must currently take precedence during the last week and a half of the transfer window.

If you could manage that, the Light Blues would have had an incredible window.
