Saints Reacts Results: Who should the Saints hire as their next offensive coordinator?
We polled people to find out who they think should be the New Orleans Saints’ new offensive coordinator after they opted to break company with longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael earlier this week. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers were mentioned by 36% of voters (+5.5)
and Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden, with
OC Joe Brady right behind with 35% of the votes, followed by current Saints QB coach Ronald Curry with 19%.
Gruden was already linked to the Saints when he was brought in to observe training camp back in August and he also reportedly spent time with team officials when Saints were in Tampa Bay for their Week 17 matchup with Bucs. While nothing about the team’s interest in Gruden for OC has been made official, Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said on Wednesday that their hiring process would not be rushed, which is often a mistake made in the league. They want to get the right guy and make the right hire.Loomis said that they are considering a list of possibilities.
He did not name any players, but Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, Los Angeles Rams quarterback coach Zac Robinson, and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback coach Dan Pitcher have. Keep an eye on Canal Street Chronicles for all the most recent information on the Saints’ pursuit of their next offensive coordinator. They are likely considering a few more candidates from that list, which we may learn about in the coming days.
