Celtic plans to hijack Rangers interest scuppered by Premier League giants call.

After Liverpool gave Owen Beck his debut against Bournemouth, Celtic’s attempts to take advantage of the rumored Rangers interest in the player were botched.

The Old Firm is rumored to have rejected early bids from both parties for Beck, 21, following the left-back’s recall by the Reds earlier in January.

The Welshman is credited for turning heads at Rangers and Celtic throughout his first half of the season while on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership.

The idea that Owen Beck would make a comeback to the North this January, however, has been dispelled when the player was benched during Liverpool’s 4-0 victory at the Vitality.

Rangers, Celtic linked Owen Beck in Liverpool debut

Owen Beck replaced Connor Bradley in the 83rd minute of the clash with Bournemouth to make his Premier League debut for Liverpool.

UEFA registration rules prevent players from playing for more than two clubs in a season, with Owen Beck having now played for both Dundee and Liverpool.

Beck had been recalled to Liverpool during something of an injury crisis at the club, Joe Gomez deputising at left-back with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas sidelined.
